Start with what you remember.
A rehearsal, a teacher, a place, a program in a drawer. Tell us what connects it to Oklahoma’s musical life.
What to include
- Your name and how you are connected to the story.
- The people, ensemble, place, and approximate date. Say when a detail is uncertain.
- What you remember in your own words. Separate your own experience from something you were told.
- Links to a public program, photograph, archive item, or other source, if you have them.
If you have one or two programs, photographs or similar items, describe who holds the original and how its date was established. A printed date and a date recalled later should be identified separately.
Before anything is published
Sending a message starts a conversation. It does not automatically publish your account or grant permission to reproduce an image. We will need to establish the source, requested credit, and permission for any material considered for publication.
Keep private addresses, phone numbers, and student rosters out of your first message. Describe a photograph before sending a large file, especially if it shows living people or children.
A short introduction is enough.
Tell us your musical connection, one memory or subject you would like to discuss, and how to reply. You can begin without sending a recording. For a possible interview, we will discuss the approved public name, recording, transcript and permission before publication.
